A new rehabilitation center for children with autistic spectrum was opened in Rustavi.

A new rehabilitation center for children with autistic spectrum was built on the basis of a memorandum signed between the Defense Cooperation Service of the United States Embassy and Rustavi City Hall.

The new center is designed for 150 beneficiaries and is fully equipped and adapted to provide the necessary services for children with autism spectrum.

The US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze and Kvemo Kartli State Governor Giorgi Dokhturishvili opened the rehabilitation center for children with autistic spectrum. The event was attended by the commander of the US Georgia National Guard, Major General Thomas Cardin, the head of the Georgia State Emergency Response Agency, James Stallings, the US Defense Attaché in Georgia, Colonel Joseph Bilbo, Rustavi City Council fraction Georgian Dream deputies and the center"s employees.

The rehabilitation center for children with autistic spectrum was built on the base of the “Kesane” municipal rehabilitation center for disabled persons in Rustavi. The project was financed by the US Embassy with USD 779,750.
