The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, officially opened the National Wine Agency’s first regional office in Gurjaani.

The new office will make it easier for wine producers and winegrowers to access the Agency’s services and obtain relevant information. Staff members will provide consultations to local businesses and assist them in communicating with the Agency.

At the initial stage, the Grape Harvest Coordination Centre will operate in the office. In the future, the building will also house the Kakheti branches of the National Wine Agency’s State Tasting Commission and Wine Laboratory LLC.

“A significant number of Georgia’s wine companies and wineries are based in Kakheti; therefore, ensuring access to services within the region is particularly important for local wine producers. The new office will enable them to conduct laboratory analyses of their wines locally, in Gurjaani. This will significantly simplify procedures related to quality control, save producers time and financial resources, and facilitate the timely receipt of the documentation required for the sale of wine”, - said David Songulashvili.

Levan Mekhuzla, Chairman of the National Wine Agency; Platon Kalmakhelidze, State Representative in the Kakheti region; Members of Parliament; and mayors of Kakheti municipalities accompanied the Minister.

The National Wine Agency’s regional office is located at Ioseb Noneshvili Avenue N 23, Gurjaani.
