The National Center for Disease Control summarized the activities of the past year - the event was opened by Tamar Gabunia. Attention was focused on routine immunization, maternal and child health, the importance of the Collaborative Center for the Elimination of Viral Hepatitis, strengthening of tobacco control and other priority issues.

“From last year’s indicators, it is worth noting a serious improvement in the immunization program, in terms of overcoming the interruptions caused by the pandemic, achievements of the hepatitis C program. Also noteworthy are the achievements in terms of environmental control, infectious and non-communicable diseases, including the tobacco control framework, strengthening legislation and promoting its enforcement.

The work of regional services is very important, in terms of disease detection and ongoing surveillance”, - said Tamar Gabunia.
