Georgian National Women’s Chess team wins World Women’s Team Championship

The Georgian national women’s chess team - Bella Khotenashvili, Meri Arabidze, Nino Batsiashvili, Lela Javakhishvili and Salome Melia - won the ninth edition of the FIDE World Women’s Team Championship in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The team defeated their Kazakh rivals in both matches of the final stage to celebrate the win in the Championship.

The National Women’s Chess competed in Pool A with India, Ukraine, France, Egypt and Kazakhstan.
