“We want to inform the public that there is a special operation for the survival and reunification of the United National Movement, which is organized by today’s “Dream” and is being carried out using the Chinchaladze-Murusidze court system sanctioned for corruption.

Mikheil Saakashvili, accused of abuse of authority, who must give answers to the justice system, at the court session, from the chamber, he was conducting a party meeting live, giving assignments, sorting out the UNM’s reunification plan, he made statements in the Ukrainian language, that is, he spoke about circumstances that have nothing to do with the criminal case under consideration, which he has no right to do according to the procedural legislation of the criminal law of Georgia, and at such times the judge should stop him. Instead, this pre-election campaign of Saakashvili will be broadcasted live, including through Saakashvil’s raided Imedi TV.

A citizen of a foreign country, the defendant in the prison ward participates fully in the national political processes, which the law prohibits, but does not prohibit, and what’s more, the “Dream” allows it. This is not the first case, this is a campaign event, the purpose of which is, on the one hand, to save the disintegrated UNM for the 2024 elections, and on the other hand, to intimidate the citizens of Georgia with Saakashvili and his UNM.

We call on the Georgian Dream to stop this pre-election spectacle, do not use the court to achieve its own pre-election PR goals; Do not help the disunited UNM to reunite; to enforce the justice of the court; to stop the systematic violation of the Criminal Procedure Code and to transfer Saakashvili to the penitentiary institution - at least after the new year”, - said Mikheil Daushvili.
