For the first time in the history of independent Georgia, a Georgian football player is among the best FIFA players

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was ranked 10th for the rankings of the best players as part of FIFA Football Awards.

The event hosted annually by the sport’s governing body to the players with best performance of the year saw Kvaratskhelia take the position with 7 points.

Georgian national team and Napoli winger was ranked among top players like Erling Haaland of Manchester City, Kylian Mbappé of Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi, who won the title of the Best FIFA Men’s Player.

He was placed 17th in the Men’s Ballon d’Or award rankings, which is handed annually by France Football to the best player of the year.

It should be mentioned that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia became the first Georgian to be recognized as the best player in a top European championship.
