Police in Marneuli arrested 1 person on fraud charges

Officers of the Marneuli Police Division of Kvemo Kartli Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person on charges of fraud.

The investigation established that the accused person promised to make furniture for a citizen residing in Marneuli Municipality in exchange for 1,750 GEL, extorted the money, however failed to fulfill the promise and fraudulently appropriated the money.

Law enforcement officers arrested the accused person based on a judge's ruling.

The investigation is underway under Article 180, II part of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for up to 7 years.
