No one is interested in what arguments the court made its decision based on – Mdinaradze

No one is interested in what arguments the court made its decision based. Such a statement made today Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of Georgian Dream, while commenting decision of the City Court, which suspended the presidential decree on Kakha Tsikarishvili’s appointment as a non-judge member of the High Council of Justice.

“I will be as neutral as possible! The main thing is whether the court’s decision was legal or not - if it was legal and had a basis, then the administration of the president and everyone else is lying, including “Natsmedia” media [media of the United National Movement], and if the court’s decision was subjective and illegal, and unrealistic reasons were given in the motivation part, then we are dealing with something else. And they may be right in some part.

No one is interested in what arguments the court made its decision based on. Let’s see what is written in the court’s decision, let someone reveal it and decide accordingly.

If Kakha Tsikarishvili passed the competition, the formal part of this competition should have been preserved. If you decide to appoint by competition, do you have to follow the formal side of the competition? If I decide to appoint a person through competition and don’t follow the formal side, then the logic of the court is correct and what do you want, what are you justifying?!

There is no logic in the fact that the President could appoint a member of the Supreme Council of Justice without a competition - if she could, she would have appointed without a competition, but since she decided to appoint a member through a competition, should she follow the formal side of the competition?! She didn’t appoint a member of the Supreme Council of Justice without a competition, she did not use her discretion”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.
