Central Election Commission hosts students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University

The Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with the students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. During the meeting, held at the premises of the CEC, Giorgi Kalandarishvili spoke in detail about the importance of elections and the role of the Election Administration (EA) in this process, the history of elections in Georgia, and the novelties related to technological intervention. He also spoke about the process of preparation for the elections of October 26, 2024, educational projects, and the ongoing CEC large-scale information campaign, which serves to familiarize voters with technologies.

As the Chairperson of CEC said, the engagement of young people in the electoral process is of paramount importance, given that elections play a crucial role in the democratic development of the country. Encouraging youth participation in active public and political life begins with exercising their right to vote.

The concluding segment of the meeting took the form of a question-and-answer mode, during which Giorgi Kalandarishvili addressed inquiries posed by the students. Additionally, the students visited the library of the CEC. This informational meeting was organized at the initiative of Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi, as part of the student support program.
