Based on the interests of the country, we decided to establish a grant fund for Georgian non-governmental organizations, which will be fully financed from the state budget. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Many non-governmental organizations were threatened by certain foreign donors with the termination of funding if they were to register with the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.

Against this background and in general, based on the interests of the country, we decided to establish a grant program for Georgian NGOs, which will be fully financed from the Georgian state budget with the money of the Georgian taxpayer.

The necessary institutional and financial foundations for the smooth operation of the grant fund will be prepared in the next two months, and the first grant projects will be financed from January 2025”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
