Police detained 18-year-old for sexual crimes against minor

An 18-year-old has been arrested by the police in Tbilisi for invasion of privacy, extortion, and sexual crimes against a minor.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect coerced the victim into sending personal photos and videos via social media, which were then used for blackmail and extortion.

The person also threatened the minor with potential violence and committed “other acts of a sexual nature”.

The charges carry a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
