Out of 27 political parties registered for the 26 parliamentary elections, six have signed the Code of Conduct for political parties. The Election Administration [EA] has invited political parties participating in the elections to sign the Code of Conduct.
For the 2024 elections, it is important for the EA to have a document that unites parties participating in the elections around internationally recognized principles. In this process, the EA serves as a neutral body, acting as an impartial facilitator and contributing to the long-term development of election culture within its scope.
The Code of Conduct, developed by the EA for political parties, is based on key principles from the document used in the 2024 European Parliament elections and incorporates the best international practices. Before the signing, the Election Administration sent the draft Code of Conduct to political parties for review and feedback. The final version was developed with their input.
Political party representatives have been able to sign the Code of Conduct since September 9. The signed document is publicly available on the website.
