65 displaced families were handed keys to fully renovated flats in a residential building in Tbilisi, after the accommodation was purchased for them by the national Agency of Internally Displaced Persons, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods Provision.

The Minister of IDPs from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs, handed the families the keys.

Mikheil Sarjveladze emphasised the Government’s “commitment to creating decent living conditions for internally displaced persons”.

The flats were purchased by the Agency from a private construction company for the purpose of resettlement of IDPs.

Construction is also underway on residential complexes in 5 cities across Georgia, including 11 blocks in Tbilisi, to accommodate 2,400 families of IDPs.
