The elections took place in a peaceful and free environment. Such a statement made Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission [CEC] at today’s briefing.

“Today, for the first time, we used electronic election machines on such a large scale, and at the end of the day we can confidently say that the elections have taken place.

This stage of election modernization was successfully implemented.

The elections took place in a peaceful and free environment. We had an immediate response to various highlighted issues, which did not affect the election process and especially the results.

The voter turnout and the fact that the process took place without any errors confirm that the election administration organized the elections in accordance with international standards”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

He also announced the preliminary data of 2,206 election precincts.

“The results are as follows:

Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia – 52,99% [935 004]
Coalition for Change / Gvaramia, Melia, Girchi, Droa – 11.2% [197 619]
Unity – National Movement – 9.83% [173 510]
Strong Georgia – Lelo, for People, for Liberty – 9.2% [159 306]
Gakharia for Georgia – 8.22% [145 205]”, - added the Chairman of CEC.
