Those arrested for stuffing ballots into the ballot box in Marneuli were sentenced to pre-trial detention

Those arrested for putting ballots in the ballot box were sentenced to pre-trial detention. The court of Marneuli recently discussed the prevention measure. One of the two detainees is the Deputy Chairman of the Marneuli City Council.

According to the investigation, the defendants placed election ballots in the box at the 69th polling station in Sadakhlo, in violation of the law.

Due to this fact, voting in the precinct was stopped and the results were declared invalid.

The investigation is ongoing under the article of falsification of documents related to the elections. In case of conviction, the detainees face up to 2 years in prison.
