Employees of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, detained previously convicted A.G. (DoB 1980), convicted of for assaulting a police officer.

In 2021, the restraining order was issued against A.G. on the fact of violence against his parents.

The investigation established that the accused person, who participated in protest on Rustaveli Avenue, in the vicinity of the Parliament building, attacked the patrol - inspector who was at the site to ensure protection of the public order and physically assaulted him.

A.G. was arrested as a result of immediate activities on the fact of the assault against a police officer. The crime envisions the term of imprisonment from 4 to 7 years. The investigation is being conducted under Article 353(1) of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
