It is a great responsibility for me to lead the foreign policy, especially when we see how much external factors influence the daily life of our country. Such a statement made today Maka Botchorishvili, Chairperson of the Parliament’s European Integration Committee who was nominated for the post of the Foreign Minister by the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

“Today, implementing foreign policy requires special courage and, at the same time, caution. It is a great responsibility for me to lead the foreign policy, especially when we see how much external factors influence the daily life of our country, the internal politics of our country, and how our country"s internal affairs are used in the foreign arena.

I would like to thank the Prime Minster, the Georgian Dream party for the confidence in the nomination. My return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is like returning home.

Protecting the country’s interests had never been easy, every day and every minute of my life will be dedicated to ensuring that our country’s national interests and constitutional goals are protected to the greatest extent possible in the international arena”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.
