Georgian Prime Minister met with the senior managers of TAV Airports, a Groupe ADP member company managing Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports. The large French holding’s top executives congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on the ruling team’s victory in the recent elections and his appointment as Prime Minister, also wishing his success.
The conversation at the meeting touched on prospects of future cooperation. The company expressed a desire to remain in the Georgian market and continue operating, including at new Tbilisi International Airport.
The company’s representatives spoke about plans for the future and close cooperation with the state so that the infrastructure of Tbilisi International Airport may meet the growing passenger flow and the needs of new airlines. It was noted that Tbilisi International Airport’s passenger flow will grow by 1,000,000 to reach 5,000,000 by the end of this year.
The Georgian authorities’ prudent policy was emphasized at the meeting as a factor fostering the exponential growth of new airlines entering Georgia and passenger flows into Tbilisi and Batumi Airports, consequently bolstering economic and tourism development. The state’s efforts toward visa liberalization with China-ensuring growing passenger flows from China and new airlines taking an interest in the Georgian market-were commended.
