We have made a decision to nominate our basketball players, the entire team for the highest state awards. Captain Tornike Shengelia and Giorgi Shermadini will be nominated for the Order of Excellence. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“We were delighted with our basketball players, who have won a ticket to the EuroBasket, the European Championship, for the 6th time in a row. Of course, it is important to properly appreciate this success and in this regard, as you know, based on consultations with the President of Georgia, we made a decision to nominate our basketball players and the entire team for the highest state awards.

Members of our national basketball team, the heads of the federation and, first of all, the basketball players will be nominated for the Order of Honor. We have selected 2 basketball players, captain, Tornike Shengelia and also Giorgi Shermadini, who have special achievements and they will be nominated for the Order of Excellence.

I would like to congratulate all of them on this award. They will be awarded in the near future”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
