After Budapest, the Georgian Foreign Minister is already holding high-level meetings in Vienna.

Maka Botchorishvili has already met with the OSCE Secretary General, and is now holding talks with her Austrian counterpart. A joint press conference is planned after the meeting. The main issue of the meeting is the current relations between Austria and Georgia, the friendship between the countries and ways to deepen this partnership.

As Maka Botchorishvili noted before the meeting, one of the main issues to be discussed will be the country’s European integration and the steps taken on this path. Also, according to the Georgian Foreign Minister, it is interesting what vision the newly appointed minister has regarding the issue of EU enlargement.

As for meeting with the OSCE Secretary General, as Maka Botchorishvili said, visions for future relations and the challenges facing Georgia were discussed.

“The OSCE is an important organization for Georgia, we are members of this organization. This is the format where we mainly talk about Georgia’s security challenges, and relations with OSCE institutions also remain an important format. You know that we closely cooperate with ODIHR and other institutions. It is important to have communication, contact with the newly elected Secretary General and the heads of the institutions.

Georgia and Austria have historically had very good bilateral relations, which are very important to maintain and continue under the new government. The meeting with the new minister is a good opportunity for us to discuss issues that are important for Georgia, including issues of integration into the European Union and important aspects of bilateral relations”, - added the Minister.
