Migration Department expelled 97 foreign nationals from Georgia in March - MIA

Employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs expelled 97 foreign nationals from Georgia in March.

"Some of the foreign nationals left Georgia voluntarily, while others were forcibly expelled as a result of measures carried out by the Migration Department. The expelled individuals have been banned from re-entering the country in accordance with the law.

Among those expelled were citizens of India, Belarus, China, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Bangladesh, the US, Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Cameroon, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan - a total of 97 individuals.

The Migration Department of the MIA is responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its key functions is identifying foreign nationals residing in Georgia without legal grounds and carrying out their expulsion", - reads the statement.
