The State Security Service of Georgia responded to the alleged threats, stating that its units were "working on another false report" while emphasizing that the agency was taking all necessary and urgent measures.

"The relevant departments of the State Security Service of Georgia are working on the case of yet another false alert", - reads the statement of the SSSG.

The US Embassy in Georgia has issued a security alert regarding bomb threats targeting 3 shopping malls in Tbilisi, advising its staff to avoid the locations until further notice. The Embassy said that it learnt of bomb threats which were directed at East Point Shopping Mall, Galleria Tbilisi, and Tbilisi Shopping Area.
