The Tbilisi City Court has replaced the previously imposed bail of GEL 20,000 on former Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili with immediate imprisonment.

Irakli Okruashvili was detained within the courtroom.

On April 8, the court set a bail of GEL 20,000 as a preventive measure after Okruashvili failed to appear at the session of temporary investigative commission studying activities of the 2003-2012 government and its officials. The deadline for paying the bail was May 8.
