
Georgia`s judoka Eter Liparteliani has won the World Championship [57kg category] taking place in Budapest, Hungary.
Before the decisive match, Liparteliani defeated Ju Kim [South Korea], Daria Kurbonmamadova [Russia], Pihla Salonen [Finland], and Maýsa Pardayeva [Turkmenistan].
In the final, the 25-year-old judoka overcame Momo Tamaoki [Japan].
She won all her matches by ippon, becoming the first Georgian woman to claim a world judo title.
Today, Eter Askilashvili will compete on behalf of Georgia in the -63 kg weight category, and Tato Grigalashvili and Zaur Dvalashvili in the -81 kg.
The Judo World Championship has been underway since June 13.
