Two Belarusian citizens arrested in connection with drug crimes are to be formally charged today, after which the court will decide on a preventive measure for them.
As a result of another police operation conducted by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Batumi, Adjara region, an especially large amount of narcotics was seized - up to 3 kilograms of “cocaine”, up to 13,000 “ecstasy” pills and an especially large amount of “heroin”.
The sale of the aforementioned narcotics was allegedly planned in various nightclubs in Batumi, which would have caused irreparable damage to the health and lives of people, especially young ones.
As a result of operational measures and investigative actions, officers of Batumi Police Division of Adjara Police Department arrested 2 citizens of Belarus, R.S., born in 2000, and M.V., born in 2004, on charges of illegal purchase and storage of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities and assistance in drug-related crime.
Police seized narcotic drugs in Batumi as a result of a search of residential apartment rented by one of the defendants. In addition, as a result of a personal search, “cocaine” placed in 7 ball-framed object, “ecstasy” and other items necessary for packing narcotic drugs were also seized. In addition, photos of specific locations selected for the sale of narcotic drugs were found in the mobile phone of one of the defendants. The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
