Khazaradze admits that he did not pay income taxes on the house he rented to Peter Fisher for years, calling it a misunderstanding
Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of the “Lelo” party, admits that he did not pay income taxes on the house he rented to Peter Fisher for years, calling it a misunderstanding. “For the past 3 days, Bidzina Ivanishvili’s parrot-servants - so-called MPs Volski, Sharmanashvili, Shakarashvili, and their propaganda media - have launched a vicious campaign against my family. Unfortunately, only today am I able to respond to this shameless propaganda. The issue concerns a rental agreement involving the German Ambassador and property under my wife’s name. The contract was properly signed and registered according to all legal requirements. However, last week, we ourselves identified a tax issue, caused by a misunderstanding over whether the source of income was subject to taxation. Based on our own inquiry, the agreement was duly registered with the tax office, and the payment was made in full - closing the matter entirely. Let me remind these liars that my companies and I contribute hundreds of millions of GEL to the state budget each year. I have repeatedly called on both Bidzina [Ivanishvili] and his people to publish their own tax contributions - alongside mine. And don’t forget to ask about the GEL 400 million Ivanishvili recently pulled out of the Georgian people’s pockets this January, using an offshore amnesty law that was tailor-made for him. But of course, such actions are unsurprising coming from the corrupt, Kremlin-backed so-called MPs of Georgian Dream. The Georgian people will hold you accountable for this and many other crimes!”, - writes Mamuka Khazaradze on his Facebook page.
