As the Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the annual press conference ,Russia was ready to abolish visa regime with Georgia.

In response to a question about relations with Georgia, the leader recalled the 2008 war and said that the deterioration of relations between the two countries was not the fault of Moscow. He also spoke about the occupied regions and the appointment of Saakashvili to the position of the Odessa Governor.
"Again I repeat, we are not the cause of tension. The former government and former President should not have taken hazardous solutions, which led to the country"s territorial desintegration. It is their fault.
