Prime Minister of Georgia inspects container and fertilizer terminals at Batumi Sea Port

Prime Minister of Georgia together with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Zurab Pataradze visited the Batumi Sea Port to inspect its container and fertilizer terminals.

Head of the Government reviewed the facilities’ operational capabilities and learned about plans for their future infrastructure development.

He underscored the strategic importance of Batumi Port infrastructure and terminals in strengthening Georgia’s transport and logistics capacity.

"Cargo throughput at Batumi Port has reached a record-high level. Based on the first seven months of this year, we can already say that 2026 will be a record-high year for the port in terms of cargo volumes. Everything must be done to ensure the continued development of our port infrastructure. The Port of Poti is also of great importance. We are actively working on the development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and by 2029 we plan to receive the first vessels at Anaklia and complete the first phase of the project", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
