EU member states should make their voices heard even louder in Brussels. Such a statement made today Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

As he noted, the EU member states are increasingly striving to ensure that their positions are heard more clearly in Brussels and within European Union institutions.

"I think that in general, we have been observing a process recently where EU member states are increasingly concerned and are trying to make their voices heard more within Brussels, that is, within the EU institutions.

The calls for reform, which concern structural changes within the EU institutions, are precisely aimed at this, because at some point - and I think it is clearly visible from the outside as well - the EU bureaucracy took a large portion of power upon itself in such a way that the voices of its member states are no longer heard as much.

Therefore, I believe part of this process is that EU member states - and this is precisely what we support, which is why we hold bilateral meetings - should make their voices heard even louder in Brussels. Thus, I am confident that this process will find its logical development", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
