Asian Development Bank has raised Georgia`s economic growth forecast for 2026 to 6.3%, which represents an improvement of 0.8% compared to the previous forecast – Tsintsadze

The Asian Development Bank [ADB] has raised Georgia’s economic growth forecast for 2026 to 6.3%, which represents an improvement of 0.8% compared to the previous forecast. Such a statement made today the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

As he noted, the September economic outlook report published by the ADB emphasizes that Georgia`s economy exceeded expectations, recording a high economic growth of 7.9% in the first half of 2026. He also added that the economic growth is highly diversified across sectors.

"The main drivers of economic growth were the information and communication, transport and storage, as well as manufacturing and other sectors. The report notes that against the backdrop of higher-than-expected economic activity recorded in Georgia and the lower impact of regional tensions on our country’s economy, economic growth forecasts have improved. As a result, the economic growth forecast for Georgia for the current year has been increased from 5.5% to 6.3%", - said Vakhtang Tsintsadze.

He also points out that among the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia region in general, the upgrade in Georgia’s economic growth is the highest. Furthermore, “this improvement comes against the backdrop where the economic growth indicator for the region as a whole is being revised downward".

"This underscores once again that Georgia possesses a correct, consistent, and predictable economic policy that is trusted by the private sector and international investors alike, and this is reflected in the results recorded in our economy. We also expect that Georgia’s economic growth for 2026 will be significantly higher than what various international financial institutions currently forecast", - added the Deputy Minister.

When speaking about the positive dynamics and foundation of economic growth, Vakhtang Tsintsadze emphasizes the ongoing structural reforms in the country`s economy, as well as infrastructural projects, which, in his assessment, ultimately contribute to accelerating the pace of economic growth.
