Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Rati Ionatamishvili, participated in a meeting of the Consultative Group working on the rights of persons with disabilities, which was held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Rati Ionatamishvili addressed the participants and emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities. The meeting addressed both equal access for persons with disabilities to law enforcement services and the measures implemented in recent years within the Ministry`s system to protect the rights of persons with disabilities.

Particular attention was paid to future priorities and plans, including ensuring the effective involvement of persons with disabilities and their representatives in the process of developing and implementing the relevant action plan, as well as taking their needs and views into consideration.

The meeting was attended by heads of relevant structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of the disability community.
