Officers of Imereti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested one person in Kutaisi on charges of fraudulently appropriating a large amount of money.

The investigation established that the accused person convinced a citizen of the Republic of Turkey that the businessman was buying his house for 260,000 USD. He fraudulently signed a purchase agreement, based on which the house was transferred to his father’s name and fraudulently acquired the real estate.

As a result of the operational measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the perpetrator of the crime was arrested as an accused person.

The investigation is underway under Article 180, III part of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisioning the imprisonment for a term of up to 9 years.
