Earthquake in Italy - no Georgians among victims

The Courier contaced the Georgian community residing in Italy near the earthquake epicenter.

According to them, there are no Georgians among the victims, however, the search operation is still underway and the city in panic.

According to information received from the Georgian citizens, a cleric and several students were injured.

"The epicenter was in the settlement of Usida, which is in about 20-25 kilometers. The center of the city was destroyed to the ground. Very few Georgians live in the region. I am only one in my city. The daeth toll is unknown, because many people are still under ruined houses . The situation in the city is terrible , all are out, looking for friends, looking for relatives. There is a terrible panic, "- said Mary Kapianidze who lives in Italy.

The Courier tried to to connect the Georgian Embassy to Italy all nightto get more precise information in vain.
