Sarpi customs checkpoint has been closed for Georgian citizens since morning. The reason is not known for the citizens. Only Turkish citizens are allowed to cross the border.

Georgian passport holders are not allowed to enter from neighboring countries . Georgians can`t enter from Turkey as well.

Law enforcers are mobilized and carry out the search. Restrictions are imposed on the movement of transport,as well which has resulted in traffic jams.

Turkish Consulate speaks about technical problems, but they do not specify when exactly the checkpoint will be opened.
