Parallel to consideration of Rustavi 2 suit,a rally was held in front of the building of the Supreme Court. Thepoliticians and civil society representatives called on the Judicial Panel to render objective ruling.

Protesters claimed that after the elections the authorities would try to establish full control of the media and therefore that was a decisive battle for Rustavi 2.

The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary Bridget Brink, who was on official visit to Georgia, noted that media freedom and media pluralism was essential for a democratic country.

The US State Deputy Assistant Secretary also noted that she had discusses Rustavi 2 issue at the official meetings with the members of the cabinet and the President.

The US Ambassador to Georgia, Ian Kelly made another statement. He again stressed the importance of media pluralism.

Recall that the Supreme Court judgment can issue a decision on Rustavi 2 case on any day.until January 25, 2017. Rustavi2 has no information about the hearing process.
