Rustavi 2 is waiting for the decision of the Grand Chamber. The 9-member Chamber will have to make a very important decision, which will define the future of the democratic processes.

The NGOs will monitor the work of the Supreme Court. According to the third sector, the case should not proceed without an oral hearing. If the Grand Chamber upheld the decision against the owners of Rustavi-2, alongside with media freedom, the property rights may be restricted.

The lawyers of Rustavi 2 claim that if the illegal decision is taken by a Grand Chamber, its legitimacy will be higher.

The possibility that the authorities were trying to increase the legitimacy of the decision is shared by the opposition, but the politicians are hoping that the Supreme Court unlike the previous instances, will stand the pressure.
