A Public Defender states that it is a concerning fact that 13 women were killed due to domestic violence in last 10 months in Georgia.

Ucha Nanuashvilli made an announcement at the meeting with representatives of UNIFEM .

An Ombudsman has called on the Parliament and the Justice Minister to define femicide, as gender-motivated murder .
He has also urged the government to speed up ratification of the European Council"s convention on the prevention and eradication of domestic violence.
