Next year’s budget of universal healthcare is 660 million GEL. It is 100 million GEL less, than in 2016. More than 500 thousand citizens of Georgia will not receive medical care because of this change.
“There is a problem that in this program are included such medical institutions, which do not satisfy the standards. The will be eliminated from the program”, - explained Head of Healthcare committee of Parliament of Georgia Akaki Zoidze.
Member of United National Movement Zurab Tchiaberashvili criticizes the decrease of the Healthcare budget.
“They are doing it so that one hospital will be in universal healthcare program and another not. It will result that medical institutions that are left out of it will go bankrupt. As to the people, they will have to stand in longer queues in those hospitals that are included in program”, - said Tchiaberashvili.
