Since 2012, the situation of religious freedom in Georgia, compared to previous years, has deteriorated significantly - the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center study says.

According to the NGO,the state responded to the challenges with non-secular and discriminative policy, leaving a large part of the religious conflicts conserved.

They do not rule out that the situation will become morel tense. Freedom of religion in in terms of the challenges faced by the country will be considered at today`s conference which will assess the policy of the State Agency for Religious Affairs .

"The situation in Georgia in terms of the freedom of religion has worsenedwhich is confirmed by the religious conflicts towards the Muslim community , as well as facts of violence against Jehovah"s Witnesses.The problems that have accumulated during many years in the country remain unresolved, "- said the representative of the Human Rights Education and Monitoring Center Tamta Mikeladze.
