Mamuka Gamkrelidze,the founder of a new social movement- New Unity for Georgia states that foundation of a Coordinating Council is a tool for prevention of dictatorship.

The Coordination Council aims to repel government"s attacks on free media.

" We need to protect not only Rustavi 2, but first of all and most important Georgian Public Broadcaster,"- Mamuka Gamkrelidze said.

According to him, at this stage eight political parties , alongside with a variety of public organizations are involved in work on the coordination work.
As Mr. Gamkrelidze stated , consultations are underway with other political parties as well.

" Rustavi 2 is the only TV station that broadcasts different point of view. We all have to protect it,"- said Mamuka Gamkrelidze.
He underlined that the gathering in support of Rustavi 2 is planned for tomorrow, 14:00 in front of metro station Rustaveli. Demonstrators will march to the Supreme Court.
