The process is not devoid of interest of the government to correct the editorial policy of Rustavi 2 - stated the head of the non-governmental organization Democratic Initiative.
Giorgi Mshvenieridze responded to the Supreme Court decision according to which Rustavi 2 case trial will be held on March 2 without verba hearing.
Human rights activist said the Supreme Court`s decision would be crucial and define whether the government would choose the path of democratic development.
Mshvenieradze did not rule out that Rustavi 2 case will be completely finished in two days.
"The process is not devoid of interest from the government to change Rustavi2 editorial policy which means nothing else but an attempt to silence Rustavi 2 . It is possible that the Court would finish the case in a day ; so , the decision taken will be decisive for the history of the country . it ill define the way in which the state will develop, whether it remains in a formal legal framework of democracy or goes towards isolation and restriction of freedom, "- said Giorgi Mshvenieradze .
Transparency International Georgia also focuses on the interest of the Government in Rustavi 2 Broadcasting company,.
"Given the fact that Mzia Todua was in the past one of the contributors of the ruling party, she should have been recused," - said Giorgi Beraia.
