Public Defender, Ucha Nanuashvili claims that the European Court of Human Rights, as a rule, does not take such decisions, however, against the background of circumstances around Rustavi-2 case, the decision of Strasbourg Court was the "most optimal".

"Such things do not happen often and when the Strasbourg Court takes such a decision this means that not everything was at the highest level . I mean the processes in the court system that have been going on in recent years. In general, the fact that the consideration of the case was carried out without an oral hearing has created a negative impact on public confidence in the court proceedings. Not to speak about the fact that during the first and second instance court proceedings there were a number of questions and significant violations. In general, this process was the object of a very high attention of the public as well as international organizations . I think that in these circumstances the decision taken by the Strasbourg Court was the most optimal, "- said Nanuashvili.

According to him, in such a situation when it comes to such a media outlet as Rustavi 2, everything should be as transparent as possible, but such transparency is not ensured in Georgia today. According to him, Rustavi2 should maintain high standard of the freedom of speech.
