Georgian politicians assess the US State Department"s annual report, which gives quite severe remarks on the case of Rustavi 2 and focuses of interference of the former Prime Minister

"This is a very serious statement This is a statement , based on which the international community communicates with us. This is a recording, based on which Strasbourg will act as well,"- said Nino Kalandazdze, a member of United National Movement.
European Georgia comments on the report as well.

" Now, when the European Court, the US State Department have been involved, they"d better think twice. Maybe would be better to stop and take care of people"s problems and leave Rustavi2,"- said Giorgi Kandelaki, a member of European Georgia.
A Deputy Chairman of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee also comments on the issue.

" Situation in regard to human rights in the occupied territories is the most prevalent in the report. It also focuses on the fact that kidnapping of Georgian citizens takes place in occupied territories. When some people do not focus on that and focus only on the issues, which are the priority for them, I think that is irresponsible. We o0penly state that it is very important for us to have Rustavi2 as critical media, because freedom of speech is Georgian Dream";s achievement,"- said Rati Ionatamishvili.
