Bar Association of Georgia and International Center for Rehabilitation of Victims of Empathy ask the European Court to extend the suspension mechanism in Rustavi 2 case.

The joint statement, which was sent to Strasbourg, explains in details the reasons of why it is necessary to maintain current editorial policy of Rustavi2.

"Rustavi-2 in many cases represents a vital source of access to information," - says the statement which mentions specific facts.

"Our concern is that if this clearly pro-western, oriented towards protection of human rights television is facing the risk of changing of its editorial policy, it will be a catastrophe for the country. This is the basis for turning the country into a banana republic. Therefore, the temporary suspension of the order should be continued, "- said Zaza Khatiashvili.
