South Caucasus Director at Human Rights Watch Giorgi Gogia, focuses on media freedoms issues in the report published by the organization.

He said the organization was concerned about the ongoing trials regarding the
broadcasting company.
"The organization is concerned about the whole judicial process and its various stages, when there were facts of alleged interference of the authorities. Also, when the pressure was exerted on the director general of the company which the government failed to investigate properly, "- said Gogia.
Giorgi Gogia emphasizes the importance of Rustavi2 editorial policy , because, as he said, Rustavi 2 is a top rated channel and the change of its editorial policy will irreversibly damage media environment in general.
Giorgi Gogia said that such facts as current processes at the public broadcaster, closed political talk shows, provide a basis for the conclusion trhat "media environment is changing."

He also noted that in the country there are enough institutions that can regulate this and the creation of new instituation of Media Ombudsman will not be effective in answering the accumulated questions.
