Public Defender hopes that the government will abide by the decision of the Strasbourg regarding Rustavi 2 and will not ignore its obligations.
According to Ucha Nanuashvili, in case something like this happens, and if the government ignores the European Court`s ruling, the image of the country will be seriously damaged.
"The Strasbourg court"s decisions are binding for all countries, which are affiliated with the Council of Europe. I"m a little bit far away from the idea that the government will not take that into account, because I remember only a few cases when the decision s were ignored and the images of those countries were seriously damaged as a result. I do not think that such a path is chosen by Georgia. On the contrary, I think that the government as a whole will be able to recognize the decision of the Court, "- said Nanuashvili.
Following members of the government Eva Gotsiridze made a lengthy statement on this topic yesterday. Gotsiridze says the decision of the Strasbourg Court violated the principle of equality and the right to property.
