Noisy confrontation in Sarpi -Turkish customs officers are accused of beating Georgian citizens

Noisy confrontation is underway on Georgian- Turkish border , at Sarpo checkpoint. Locals accuse Turkish border guards of beating Georgian citizens.

According to them, 37-year-old Roin Leonidze was crossing the border when the customs officers insulted him and afterwords four Turkish customs officers physically abused him.

According to witnesses, Roin Leonidze was transported to Khopa hospital.

At the moment the victim"s relatives have gathered near the checkpoint. They ask for help from the government.
