It is not easy to influence the Strasbourg Court - the Public Defender responded to the statement of the Chairman of the Parliament according to which the European Court of Human Rights took decision on the suspension of the execution of the Supreme Court judgment on Rustavi 2.case under political influence.

According to the ombudsman, politicians should not make such statements. Ucha Nanuashvili commented on the materials sent by the Public Defende`"s Office to Strasbourg and stated that all his positions were substantiated by arguments.

"It is not easy to influence the decision of the European Court of Human Rights. The Court is an independent body and the decisions are taken independently.

We studied the case for the whole year, including the decision of the Court of Appeals and the procedures were conducte with violations. Also, the oral consideration of the case by the Supreme Court in our opinion was not justified, "said Ucha Nanuashvili
