Possibility to restore death penalty, may become a red line in the EU-Turkish relations - experts


Georgian experts were monitoring results of a referendum, held in Turkey. The analysts suggest that nothing will change in Georgian -Turkish relations after the referendum results.

" There are signs that Turkey will move to authoritarian direction. It may weaken as a secular state. On the other hand, Erdogan has achieved the first goal. Though, he needs the western legitimization of all this, it will only happen if Turkey will show that the democratic shortcomings, which are in the country will be corrected. Possibility to restore death penalty, may become a red line in the EU-Turkish relations . The referendum results will not change Georgian-Turkish relations ,"- said Giorgi Rukhadze, the founder of the Center of Strategic Analysis.
