Visit of Prime Minister of Hungary to Tbilisi on background of protests

The visit of Prime Minister of Hungary to Tbilisi was accompanied by protests. In parallel to the business forum, a protest rally was held on Freedom Square. "Antisoros rally" participants shared new regulations of Orban in connection with the University of Hungary. Because of the counter action, there were a large number of law enforcement officers on the territory today, but the participants of the action opposed each other verbally.

Political statements were made before the noisy rally today. EU integration, situation in the region, occupied territories and Russian annexation policy were discussed at the meeting of the Prime Ministers of Hungary and Georgia.

Government representatives also participated in the extended meeting with the Hungarian side. Agreements on economic, education and security issues were signed between Georgia and Hungary. In addition to official meetings, negotiations with representatives of Georgian-Hungarian companies took place at the business forum.

At the end of the visit, the Hungarian President held a meeting with the Chairman of the Parliament at the legislative body. Viktor Orban and the Hungarian government delegation left Tbilisi in the afternoon.
